Information You Send
Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered into a search box are sent to the third-party provider that supplies the resulting search experience. Conway Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those entries on its own servers. A message sent to us contains the information in that message and is used to respond.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting services may create routine logs, such as an IP address, browser type, page request, and time of access. We review aggregate technical information to maintain the service and understand general use. Cookies or similar tools may also support basic analytics and advertising measurement.
How Data Is Used
Limited technical and contact information is used to operate the service, resolve problems, measure traffic, and improve content. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services
Links lead to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and sponsored search services. Their own privacy terms apply to information submitted there. That includes information entered in a third-party search tool.
Who May Process Data
Hosting and support providers may process server logs for the operational purposes described here. Analytics or advertising providers may receive automatic technical data. We disclose information when a valid legal process requires disclosure and not otherwise.
Security Practices
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for as long as operational needs require. Because there are no accounts, the service does not hold visitor passwords or profile credentials.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor sent information to us, contact us so it can be removed.
Your Information Choices
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information this service holds about you by using the Contact page. South Carolina's Family and Personal Identifying Information Privacy Protection Act, S.C. Code Ann. title 30, chapter 2, addresses protection of personal identifiers in public records, but it does not put Horry County, Conway, or state custodian records under our control. A request concerning a public record must go to the office that holds it.
Policy Changes
Any material revision will appear here. Continued use after a revised policy is posted indicates acceptance of that version.
