Conway Resident Lookup Records
There is no confirmed comprehensive current-resident file for Conway. Each official source preserves a different kind of fact. Horry County Tax Payer Services can begin a property question, Acclaim can connect recorded parties to a document, and the court index can identify a public case. A tax or deed name is a lead, not proof that every household member lives at the parcel. Match a record's date, purpose, and key before using it to verify a Conway resident.
| Record | What it can confirm | Conway-area custodian | Access limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tax or assessment record | Owner or taxpayer association with a PIN or address | Horry Tax Payer Services | Address-bearing platforms require a free account. |
| Recorded instrument | Grantor, grantee, legal-description, and document lead | Horry County Records Search | Name results are stated from 1984; it is not an occupancy list. |
| Court case | A party connected to one public proceeding | 15th Judicial Circuit Public Index | Use date, type, agency, and role to separate like names. |
| Marriage or death record | A specific life event | Horry Probate or South Carolina DPH | Certificates and newer records have statutory limits. |
| Voter information | The requesting person's own registration information | MySCVOTES | Name, county, and date of birth are required. |
Begin with the source closest to the question. A property question calls for the tax and deed trail. A dated court event calls for the Public Index. A marriage, death, or estate question belongs with Probate or DPH. That route reduces false matches and keeps a Conway resident lookup tied to the record's actual purpose.
Note: Tax, deed, court, and vital records may describe different dates, relationships, and purposes for the same Conway name.
Conway Court Lookup Filters
The Horry County component of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit serves Conway for Circuit and Family Court matters. The official county material describes the Public Index as a search for Horry and Georgetown civil or criminal cases. It supports an individual or business name, court agency, case type, action or disposition, and a court-activity date range. The live form's complete dropdowns and result columns were not verified, so a result should be checked with the Clerk before it is treated as a record of the right person.
| Public Index criterion | Careful Conway use |
|---|---|
| Individual name | Search full-name variants, then avoid treating a name hit alone as identity. |
| Court agency or case type | Narrow to the division and matter that fits the known event. |
| Action or disposition | Use it as a procedural filter, not as a conclusion about a person. |
| Activity date range | Limit a common name to the period connected to the inquiry. |

Record the case number, party role, case type, and relevant filing or activity date, then ask the Horry County Clerk of Court for the particular public file or copy procedure. A case may hold a stale service address or no address at all.
Note: Sealed, expunged, juvenile, adoption, and sensitive family material may be unavailable or redacted despite a name search.
Conway Deed Names and PINs
For a property-based Conway name question, use the tax search's visible “Name or Pin or Address” control to obtain the best parcel key available. The county began requiring free user login for online GIS, Land Records, and Tax & Assessor platforms that display property addresses on March 16, 2026. If the online route stops at that gate, retain the PIN or legal description and use the Register of Deeds counter or its mail copy-request form.
The Horry County Records Search offers name, book/page, new legal description, legal-description/memo, document type, consideration, and record-date modes. Its copy form says party-name results reach 1984 and directs searchers to use “last name, first name” with no punctuation. Search spelling variants, then match the legal description rather than declaring that matching surnames identify the same Conway resident.
The official records-search doorway is pictured below.
For an image or certified legal copy, the Register's form asks for the name on document, document type, and any known book/page, TMS or PIN, property address, and description. Normal copies cost $8 for the first four pages and $1 for each additional page; certification adds $2. Call the Register at 843-915-5430 if a page count or older-record route needs confirmation.
- PIN or TMS
- A county parcel identifier that helps keep a property trail separate from a similarly named address.
- Grantor and grantee
- The parties named in a recorded transfer. Their names show an instrument role, not present occupancy.
- Legal description
- The recorded lot, subdivision, acreage, or other property description used to link documents more reliably than a mailing address.
Verify a Conway Resident
Verification means testing one detail against an independent source, not collecting every result for a name. A good Conway resident lookup begins with a discriminating key, such as a full legal name, approximate event date, known prior address, public business reference, or parcel number. The aim is to establish whether two records plausibly concern the same person, while respecting sources that are not designed to reveal a present home address.
- Start with the relevant property, event, or court question and save the exact name form, date, PIN, or case clue.
- For property, compare the tax lead with Acclaim's party-name and legal-description records. The tax party may be an owner or taxpayer rather than a resident.
- For a court lead, search the name with agency, type, action, and date filters. Confirm the case number with Clerk staff before requesting a document.
- For an estate or life event, use Horry Probate or DPH, then request only the record for which the requester is eligible.
A docket is the court's running case record. An index points to a record, while an image is the underlying scanned document if access is available. A certified copy is a custodian-issued copy that carries the office's certification. Those terms should not be used to overstate what an online name result proves.
Conway Voter Lookup Limits
MySCVOTES is a personal voter-information path, not a public Conway resident lookup by address or name alone. The State Election Commission says its Check My Voter Registration tool requires the voter's name, county, and date of birth exactly as shown on the registration card. South Carolina does not register voters by party, and an inactive voter is unavailable through the online lookup. Do not use this tool to browse a street, a block, or another person's registration.
The South Carolina voter-information instructions show the registration route used by Conway voters.
For local election procedures or a properly scoped election-record question, Horry County Voter Registration and Elections is the county contact. It is not a source for a reusable list of Conway residents.
The Horry County elections-office page identifies the local contact route.
The office is at 1515 Fourth Avenue, Conway, and can be reached at 843-915-5440, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A state FOIA request or List Sales channel has its own current eligibility, field, price, and lawful-use rules to confirm before requesting anything.
Conway Vital Record Paths
Horry Probate and South Carolina DPH have different roles. Horry Probate issues, records, and indexes Horry marriage licenses, which it calls public records during regular business hours. DPH handles statewide certifications for births, deaths, marriages, and divorces, but the Horry Clerk holds the actual divorce decree. A Conway marriage lead therefore does not make an unrestricted vital-record file available.
South Carolina birth records become public after 100 years under S.C. Code Ann. § 44-63-80. Death records become public after 50 years under § 44-63-84. Before those thresholds, DPH eligibility rules apply. Its marriage and divorce form requires identifying information, relationship information, signature, and photo identification; the form gives a $12 nonrefundable search fee that includes one certification if found, with $3 for each additional same-time copy.
For a local marriage certificate, Horry Probate states $5 per certified copy for 1994-current records. Pre-1994 requests have a $10 research fee plus $5 per certified copy. Begin with the DPH Vital Records hub or the Probate Court, then use the specified custodian rather than treating a certificate request as a general resident search.
Note: A public marriage-license route and an eligible DPH certification request are separate Conway records procedures.
Conway Heir and Role Checks
An estate question begins with a decedent's name and date, then with Horry County Probate Court for estate administration, wills, guardianships, and marriage licensing. An estate can identify a fiduciary or possible heir, but the person named in that dated file still needs separate identity and address verification. Historic Horry probate material from 1803 to 1873 is identified in the FamilySearch catalog, and the SC Archives has county-record microfilm for older research.
Business entities and state credentials answer narrower role questions. The Secretary of State entity search can establish a public connection to an entity, while the LLR Licensee Lookup is a state verification doorway. A registered-agent address, business filing, or license does not establish a Conway residence. For historical household context, a dated city-directory result needs a modern record check; the Conway city directory route is kept separate from current verification.
Conway Resident Lookup Limits
South Carolina's Address Confidentiality Program gives eligible victims a substitute address that state and local agencies and courts must accept under S.C. Code Ann. § 16-25-130. It does not erase records released before enrollment, but ACP applications and materials are confidential. DMV personal data, private utility details, full birth dates, and sealed court material are also not gaps to work around. If a tax or other official record is inaccurate, the appropriate correction route is the custodian that holds it.
The South Carolina Attorney General's Address Confidentiality Program explains the protected-address route relevant to a Conway resident lookup.
When a named county record is not online or needs clarification, a focused request under the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act, S.C. Code Ann. title 30, chapter 4, especially § 30-4-30, can seek an existing record. Name the custodian, record type, bounded dates, and address or case key. The agency must first make a determination within 10 business days, or 20 business days for records more than 24 months old.
Lawful use. Use a Conway resident lookup for a specific personal, family-history, estate, or civic question. Do not use records to stalk, harass, intimidate, or harm anyone.
